ompletion of 3,000 sq m of learning, studying and
catering facilities in early 2011 set in motion a series
of further works that will greatly enhance the student
experience on campus. The transformation of 1,800 sq m
of library space into a “Learning Commons” is underway,
purpose-built student union and society space has
progressed well, and a variety of culinary experiences will
be available in refurbished canteen and restaurant areas.
The superstructures of the Lee Shau Kee Business
Building and the Institute for Advanced Study reached
an advanced stage, as the University prepares for the
arrival of the double cohort of first-year undergraduates.
The move of the Business School to its spectacular new
home will provide opportunities for re-planning and
refurbishment of the existing, academic building to suit
the needs of the Schools of Science, Engineering, and
Humanities and Social Science.
The design was completed and tenders invited for the
construction of the new 10,000 sq m research and
teaching facility at the southern end of the campus.
When finished, the new structure will provide a first-class
learning and research environment for staff and students
and will boost the University’s cross-disciplinary research
capabilities.
The construction of additional on-campus residential
accommodation for over 700 students proceeded at a
good pace. Construction of a further 370 residential
places in nearby Tseung Kwan O is underway.

為迎接「雙學制」及為一年級學生作好準備，李兆基商學大
樓及高等研究院大樓的工程已將近完成。商學院遷入這個
景色優美的新址後，現有教學大樓將按理學院、工學院及
人文社會科學學院的需要進行重新規劃及翻新工程。
校園南端將會建造的一所

後，將為教職員及學生提供一流的學習及研究環境，並將
大大增強科大跨學科研究的能力。
