學院將創意藝術融入學士學位課程,藉以進一步擴闊學生的
視野及學習體驗。約
1,100
名本科生及研究生已報讀由三位
駐校作曲家及人文學部兼任教授任教的音樂課程,預期報讀
人數在未來數年會不斷增長。
人文學部和社會科學部正與科大語言中心合辦新課程,以作
為四年制核心課程的一部分,內容包括中英文傳意、人文科
學及社會分析等品牌課程,以及包括音樂和視覺藝術等創意
藝術教育課程。

全球大學》排名,科大社會科學全球排名第

位。根據《上海交通大學全球大學排名》,科大社會科學
部自2009年起獲評為大中華地區最佳大學之一,並且是亞
洲區唯一排名高踞全球首

位的大學。
The School diversified students’ educational horizons
and experience further through integrating creative
arts with the undergraduate curriculum. Some 1,100
undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled in
music classes taught by three composers-in-residence
or adjunct professors in the Division of Humanities.
Enrolment is expected to grow in subsequent years.
For the new four-year degree, the Divisions of Humanities
and Social Science, together with the Language Center,
have developed a new curriculum as part of the Common
Core including language training in Chinese and English,
selected signature courses in humanities and social
analysis, as well as innovative programs in creative arts
education including music and visual art.

月開始舉辦新的年度創意藝術課程,並由世
界著名作曲家兼包玉剛傑出客席教授盛宗亮教授傾力演出。
這個名為「創意間的親暱:盛宗亮與國際作曲家 / 演奏家聚
會香港」的課程,透過展示全新的樂曲創作過程,在音樂欣
賞方面引入了新的角度。課程包括講座系列和公開排練,並
有兩場全球首演音樂會,演奏六位新晉國際作曲家的作品。
其他著名演出者包括盛教授、
Richard Stoltzman
、
Yehudi
Wyner
、
Daedalus
四重奏等。
另外,著名裝置藝術家兼中央美術學院副院長徐冰教授獲邀
主持創意藝術合作計劃及本科生視覺藝術課程的開幕式。
In the
QS World University Rankings 2010
, HKUST was
ranked 58th globally in social sciences. Since 2009, the
Division of Social Science has been ranked consistently
among the best universities in Greater China and is the
only University in Asia in the top 75 universities globally,
according to the Shanghai Jiaotong University Academic
Ranking of World Universities.
A growing number of world-class faculty members
continued to commit to the School of Humanities and
Social Science, including Tsinghua history professor Prof
Bozhung Li who joined the Division of Humanities as
Chair Professor in July 2010, and Oxford Professor in
the Economy of China Prof Albert Park, who joined the
Division of Social Science as Chair Professor in July 2011.
In April 2011, the School was very pleased to begin
hosting a new annual creative arts program. Led by
Prof Bright Sheng, a world-renowned composer and Y
K Pao Distinguished Visiting Professor,
The Intimacy of
Creativity — The Bright Sheng Partnership: Composers
Meet Performers in Hong Kong
provided a new way of
appreciating music by showcasing the creative process of
a new work. The program comprised a lecture series, open
rehearsals and two critically acclaimed World Premiere
Concerts featuring works by six emerging international
composers. Other distinguished performers included
Prof Sheng, Richard Stoltzman, Yehudi Wyner and the
Daedalus Quartet.
Prof Bing Xu, a renowned installation artist and Vice
President of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, China, has
also been invited to inaugurate a creative arts collaborative
project and undergraduate visual arts curriculum.
