he School of Humanities and Social Science has been actively building its presence
in 2010-2011. The School covers 15 disciplines: history, literature, philosophy,
anthropology, visual arts, music, art history, linguistics, and language under the
Division of Humanities; and economics, geography, political science, psychology,
science, technology, and society (STS), and sociology under the Division of Social
Science.
In 2010, the School launched its first bachelor degree, a BSc in Global China Studies,
with the initial intake in 2011-2012. The new degree’s interdisciplinary training in
humanities and social science will prepare students to engage in critical analysis of
issues related to China in the global context. Faculty members also held open lectures
on this BSc program, attracting many high school students and parents. Previously
the School had offered postgraduate degrees and general education courses for
undergraduates from other Schools.
The Division of Social Science and the Department of Mathematics have also been
working together on a new undergraduate major in social statistics.

年，學院開辦首個學士學位課程─環球中國研究理學士課程，於
2011-2012
年開
始收生。環球中國研究課程提供人文社會科學的跨學科教育，訓練學生以全球環境作為
背景對中國問題進行分析。教研人員亦為這個理學士課程舉辦公開講座，吸引不少高
中生及家長參加。此前，學院已開辦研究生課程，以及為其他學院的本科生開辦通識
課程。
社會科學部亦與數學系緊密合作，為新的社會統計學課程作好準備。
