A
t 30 June 2011, there were a total of 3,127 members of staff in post
at HKUST. During the year, three senior staff members were appointed
to the University’s leadership team. Prof Wei Shyy took office as the
University’s Provost in August 2010. Prof Joseph Hun-wei Lee joined as the
new Vice-President for Research and Graduate Studies in November 2010.
In the same month, Dr Eden Y Woon took up his post as the University’s
first Vice-President for Institutional Advancement.
科大委任葉玉如教授為理學院院長，葉教
授為生命科學部講座教授及分子神經科學
國家重點實驗室主任。倪明選教授獲委任
為香港科技大學霍英東研究院院長，倪教
授為計算機科學及工程學系講座教授。戴
自海教授於

The University appointed Prof Nancy Y Ip, HKUST Chair Professor in
the Division of Life Science and Director of the State Key Laboratory of
Molecular Neuroscience, as the Dean of Science. Prof Lionel M Ni was
appointed Dean of HKUST Fok Ying Tung Graduate School (FYTGS)
concurrent with his academic appointment as Chair Professor of Computer
Science and Engineering. Prof Henry Tye was appointed as the Director of
the Institute for Advanced Study with effect from January 2011.

Progress Award (Second Class) from the Chinese State Council for an environmental project entitled
