來自生命科學、化學、物理、化學及生物產品工程的一年級學生組成科大隊在美國麻
省理工學院舉行的全球最大合成生物學國際學生比賽 —
2010
年國際基因工程機器大賽
（
iGEM
）贏得金獎。
The HKUST Team won gold at the 2010 International Genetically Engineered Machine
Competition (iGEM), the world’s largest-scale international student competition in the
field of synthetic biology held at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Team
members included Year 1 students in Life Science, Chemistry, Physics, and Chemical and
Bioproduct Engineering.

由科大物理學系培訓的香港高中代表隊，在泰國舉行的第
42
屆國際物理奧林匹克中，
勇奪三金兩銀佳績。
The Hong Kong team of the 42nd International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) won 3 Gold and
2 Silver medals from Thailand. Students of the award-winning team were trainees of the
Physics Enhancement Program under HKUST’s Department of Physics.

A team of Chemistry undergraduate students won the First Runner-Up in the Hong Kong
Chemistry Olympiad 2011.

以微生物附生在苔蘚蟲方面的研究，榮獲最佳論
文獎。
Mr Hao Wang
, a PhD student from the Division of Life Science and from Prof Peiyuan
Qian's laboratory, won the best paper award at the 9th international larval biology
conference held in August 2010 in Wellington, New Zealand for his work on larval
transcriptions and proteomic analysis during larval settlement of the bryozoan Bugula
neritina.

科大機械人比賽隊伍代表香港遠赴美國休士頓美國太空總署詹遜太空中心，參加
2011
遙控水底機械人大賽，並奪得最佳設計獎。
HKUST’s Robotics Team represented Hong Kong to join the 2011 International Student
Remotely Operated Vehicle Competition held at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston.
The team won the Design Elegance Award.

Partners Hong Knog Ltd to promote creativity among University students.

的名字為小行星命名，以表揚他在中學時
期研究出塑膠回收再造的新方法。他是獲此殊榮的科大第二位工學院學生。
Mr Michael Chun-hei Lam
, student of Mechanical Engineering, became the second
Engineering student to have a minor planet named after him, as initiated by the
International Astronomical Union, because of a research he conducted as a secondary
school student to introduce a novel approach to recycling plastic.
