周大福鄭裕彤基金慷慨捐贈
科大獲周大福鄭裕彤基金捐贈港幣
9,000萬元，資助興建新科研與教學大
樓，大樓以鄭裕彤博士命名，以表揚其
慷慨捐贈。
Donation from Chow Tai Fook Cheng Yu Tung
Fund
HKUST received a HK$90 million donation from the Chow Tai Fook
Cheng Yu Tung Fund for the construction of a Research and Academic
Building to be named in honor of Dr Cheng Yu Tung in appreciation of
his generosity.
方樹福堂基金慷慨捐贈
方樹福堂基金向科大捐贈港幣 150 萬
元，成立樹華內地實習計劃，三年內資
助150名學生前往內地實習。
Donation from Fong Shu Fook Tong
Foundation
Fong Shu Fook Tong Foundation donated HK$1.5 million to HKUST to set
up Mainland internship program and to support 150 students over three
years to seek internship on the Mainland.

President Selected as Fellow of the Society
for Industrial and Applied Mathematics
President Tony F Chan was selected as Fellow of the Society for Industrial
and Applied Mathematics (SIAM), one of the world’s leading institutions
in the field of mathematics.

科大獲跨國科技公司惠普的惠普催化劑
倡議聯盟撥出15萬美元，用以支持電
腦配備先進的全新教學實驗室。
Donation from Hewlett Packard
HKUST received a generous grant of US$150,000 from leading
technology multinational Hewlett Packard as part of the HP Catalyst
Initiative. The grant will support a new teaching laboratory with high-
end computers.
俄鋁校長論壇
科大舉辦第一屆俄鋁校長論壇，由全球
最大鋁生產商 — 俄鋁的創辦人兼行政
總裁歐柏嘉先生分享成功之道。
UC RUSAL President’s Forum
HKUST hosted the first UC RUSAL President’s Forum at which Mr Oleg
Deripaska, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of UC RUSAL, shared his
road to success as the leader of the world’s largest aluminium producer.

邵逸夫數學科學獎得主兼美國普林斯頓
高等研究院教授辛康‧布爾甘教授、愛
丁堡大學榮譽教授兼阿貝爾獎及菲爾茲
獎得主邁克‧阿蒂亞爵士，以及科大
校長兼數學系講座教授陳繁昌教授，在
「三位數學大師對談」中暢談數學真諦。
Dialogue with Mathematics Giants
Prof Jean Bourgain, Shaw Laureate in Mathematical Sciences and
Professor at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, Prof Michael
Atiyah, Honorary Professor at the University of Edinburgh and winner
of the Abel Prize and Fields Medal, as well as HKUST President Tony F
Chan, Chair Professor in HKUST’s Department of Mathematics, discussed
the essence of mathematics at the Dialogue with Mathematics Giants.

三江高峰論壇由科大商學院、香港電
台、廣東電台新聞台及上海第一財經合
辦。講者包括商學院院長鄭國漢教授、
萬科集團董事會主席及新任科大商學院
兼任教授王石教授，以及恒隆集團主席
陳啟宗先生。
San Jiang Forum
The San Jiang Forum was organized by the School of Business and
Management with Radio-Television Hong Kong, Radio Guangdong and
CBN Radio. Among the speakers were Prof Leonard Cheng, Dean of
Business and Management, Prof Shi Wang, Chairman of China Vanke
Co Limited and new Adjunct Professor, and Mr Ronnie Chan, Chairman
of Hang Lung Group.

金計劃得主
科大取錄32名來自四大洲11個國家的
博士生，他們在研究資助局香港博士研
究生獎學金計劃的資助下來港入讀博士
課程。科大透過這個本港計劃取錄的博
士生數目，為全港大學中最高。
32 Doctoral Students Admitted through
Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme
HKUST admitted 32 doctoral students from 11 nationalities across 4
continents to pursue PhD programs under the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship
Scheme offered by the Research Grants Council. This was the largest
number among local tertiary institutions.

Entrepreneurship Day
Entrepreneurship Center held its first Entrepreneurship Day to promote
entrepreneurship and to facilitate networking among seasoned industry
professionals and future entrepreneurs.
頒授榮譽博士學位
科大向五位傑出學者和社會領袖頒授榮
譽博士學位，他們包括夏佳理博士、
John E Hopcroft 教授、盧家驄先生、
Raj Reddy教授，以及史景遷教授。
Conferment of Honorary Doctorates
HKUST conferred honorary doctorates on five eminent leaders. They
were Dr The Hon Ronald Joseph Arculli, Prof John E Hopcroft, Mr Lo Ka
Chung, Prof Raj Reddy and Prof Jonathan D Spence.

比賽由花旗集團與科大商學院合辦、由
花旗集團基金贊助，共吸引19支世界
各地知名商學院的精英隊伍參加。
The Citi International Case Competition
The competition was jointly organized by Citi Hong Kong and HKUST’s
School of Business and Management, and sponsored by the Citi
Foundation. 19 outstanding teams from top business schools around
the world participated.

議，邀得著名氣候學家及2009年卡爾
— 古斯塔夫羅斯貝研究獎章得主美國
太空總署James Hansen教授擔任主題
講者。
Climate Change — “Elephants in the Room”
Workshop
The Division of Environment organized the workshop and invited Prof
James Hansen of NASA, a leading climatologist and recipient of the
2009 Carl Gustaf Rossby Research Medal, to give a keynote seminar.
