The University continued to build its human resources
and foster staff development while advancing campus
facilities and plans for further student accommodation,
and moving forward on sustainability.
STAFF RECOGNITION AND
DEVELOPMENT
Following an international search, the University
Council announced the appointment of Mr Mark
Hodgson, Chief Financial Officer at Aston University,
UK, as the new Vice-President for Administration
and Business, with effect from September 2014. In
other senior administrative appointments, Mr Vincent
Cheung became Director of Postgraduate Studies and
Prof Angela Lai Ping Ng took up the post of Director of
Undergraduate Recruitment and Admissions.
Senior staff appointments, campus development, and environmentally
friendly initiatives have all enhanced the University’s endeavors
ORGANIZATION AND RESOURCES
In recognition of loyalty to the University community,
the Long Service Award was presented to 240 faculty
and staff members with 20 years’ service.
To enhance staff development, work-life balance was
explored through a Wellness Program series providing
quarterly health seminars. Preparation for those
retiring was also offered through a seminar covering
issues ranging from psychosocial adjustment to
financial planning.
CAMPUS EXPANSION
The completion of facilities and relocation of the
School of Business and Management to the Lee Shau
Kee Campus enabled the University to rationalize and
redistribute the space vacated. With funding from the
