等研究院作為科大2005-2020策略發
展計劃的骨幹項目，致力提升知識，
以迎接二十一世紀的巨大挑戰。研究
院位於全球最富活力的中心地區，定可匯聚全球
精英，共同解決全球最重要的科學、科技和社會
問題。
科大高等研究院的目標，是成為亞洲以至國際知
識中心，因此不僅放眼全球，努力不斷取得科技
突破，培養學術領袖，亦促進香港及大中華地區
的社會和經濟發展。
Institute for Advanced Study
A
backbone of the University’s 2005-2020 Strategic Plan, the
Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) at HKUST is dedicated to the
advancement of knowledge to meet the great challenges of the
21st century. Located at the heart of the world’s most dynamic region,
the Institute will bring together the world’s brilliant minds to tackle the
world’s most vital issues, scientific, technological or social.
The Institute’s goal is to establish itself as the intellectual nerve
center in Asia and beyond. It will be a global incubator of scientific
breakthroughs and intellectual leaders, while promoting the social and
economic development in Hong Kong and the Greater China region.
