A New School of Inter-Disciplinary Studies
The Strategic Plan identified five high-impact areas critical to the
process of knowledge transfer that will sustain regional economic
development. All five areas of focus are fundamentally inter-disciplinary
in character, including studies that cross School boundaries. In its first
15 years of operation HKUST has organized cross-disciplinary research
work effectively through the establishment of research centers and
institutes. Inter-disciplinary educational programs have also been
developed with some success.
跨學科學院
策略發展計劃定下五個重點研究領域，以知識推
動區內的經濟發展。所有五個重點領域，基本上
都包含跨學科的特點。科大在最初15年的辦學
過程中，透過建立研究中心及研究所，已有效地
進行了跨學科的研究工作。此外，科大還設立多
個跨學科教育課程，並取得成功。
