Students will be based alternatively in HKUST’s Nansha and Hong
Kong campuses, with all courses conducted in English, and some in
collaboration with mainland partners.
On the education side, pilot programs will be offered in the following
disciplines:
•
MSc in Computer Science and Technology
•
MPhil in Computer Science
•
MSc in Electronic Technology
Other programs under consideration are logistics management, IC
design, chemical engineering and mechanical engineering.
Campus Development
The stunning bay-shore campus is one of the University’s great natural
assets. Purpose-built to provide the most conducive environment for
research, learning and student life, the University has become known
for the beauty of its setting and high-quality facilities which range from
state-of-the-art laboratories to scenic waterfront sports venues.
The further development of the University’s physical facilities and
infrastructure is part and parcel of its Strategic Plan, to ensure that its
educational and research goals are met.
By the time the four-year degree program is in place in 2012, the
number of students at HKUST is expected to increase by as much as
one-third. Infrastructure developments are essential to accommodate
the surge in student numbers.
學生將在科大的南沙或香港校園學習，所有課
程均以英語教學，其中部份課程會與內地夥伴
合辦。
在教育方面，以下學科將提供試驗課程：

計算機科學及科技理學碩士
•
計算機科學哲學碩士
•
電子科技理學碩士
其他正在考慮的課程包括物流管理、集成電路設
計、化學工程及機械工程等。
校園發展
科大校園位於清水灣，依山面海。怡人的景色是
科大重要的自然資產之一。校園設計營造了一個
研究、學習及學生生活的優美環境。科大亦擁有
世界一流的實驗室和風景優美的海邊運動場。
進一步完善學校硬件設施及基礎建設，是科大策
略發展計劃的主要組成部分，以確保教育及研究
目標得以實現。
到2012年四年制學位課程實施後，科大學生人
數預計將增加三份之一。因此，大學必須加強基
礎建設，以配合學生人數增加。
