科大細胞生物學家獲頒裘槎基金會
優秀科研者獎
生命科學部彭大衛教授獲頒裘槎基金會優
秀科研者獎，以表揚他在細胞生物學的傑
出成就。
HKUST Cell Biologist Awarded Croucher
Fellowship
Prof David Karl Banfield, Division of Life Science, was awarded the
prestigious Senior Research Fellowship by the Croucher Foundation
in recognition of his achievements in cell biology.
福建省委書記訪問科大
科大接待由福建省委書記孫春蘭女士率領
的代表團，成員來自廈門大學、福州大
學、華僑大學及商界。
Visit of Fujian Provincial Secretary
HKUST received a delegation from Fujian led by Ms Chun-lan
Sun, Secretary of the Provincial Committee in Fujian Province. The
delegation was made up of representatives from the business sector,
Xiamen University, Fuzhou University and Huaqiao University.
同一科大學生生活獎
科大設立「同一科大」學生生活獎，鼓勵科
大學生共同建立充滿活力的社群。3月，科
大舉辦了「3月健行」遠足活動和啓廸思維
的「科大群賢會」講座。
President’s 1-HKUST Student Life Award
The President’s 1-HKUST Student Life Award was launched to
engage students to collaboratively develop a vibrant community at
the University. A hiking event “March in March” and an inspirational
seminar “UST Great Minds” were held in March.

睿亦嘉科技有限公司捐贈港幣300萬元，
支持財務學系亞太金融市場中心的運作及
研究項目。
Donation from Rega Technologies
Rega Technologies Limited pledged $3 million to support the Center
for Asian Financial Markets in the Department of Finance. The
donation will be used to support the Center’s operation and research
projects.
社交媒體實驗室獲捐款
上海通盛時富股權投資管理有限公司行政
總裁聶樂輝先生先生捐贈港幣200萬元，
支持電子及計算機工程系用作網絡研究的
社交媒體實驗室，以進行研究和設計可用
於未來網路的新一代社交媒體系統、網
路、應用程式。
Donation to support Social Media
Laboratory
Mr Bill Nie, Chief Executive Officer of TS First Fortune Asset
Management, pledged $2 million to support the Social Media
Laboratory in the Department of Electronic and Computer
Engineering to carry out networking research.

Grand Celebration for the 20th Anniversary
HKUST hosted its 20th Anniversary Grand Celebration with Vice
Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s
Congress Mr Qide Han and the HKSAR Chief Executive Mr Donald
Tsang officiating with a distinguished array of celebrities.

President Tony F Chan had a dialogue with Cambridge University
Vice-Chancellor Prof Sir Leszek Borysiewicz at the Presidents
Dialogue on higher education around the world which received
enthusiastic response from the audience.

在博鰲亞洲論壇2011上，陳繁昌校長發表
演講，就大學校長與企業總裁之分別與其

President Spoke at Boao Forum
President Tony F Chan spoke at Boao Forum for Asia Annual
Conference 2011. He shared his insights as a panelist on “Rethinking
Education: University Presidents vs Corporate CEOs” along with
other global leaders.

第三屆風險管理及商業智能學研討會於
2011年舉行，為專家和年青人提供交換意
見的平台。
Symposium on Risk Management and
Business Intelligence
The 3rd Symposium on Risk Management and Business Intelligence
2011 provided a platform for experts and young adults to exchange
views.
侍學日
科大侍學日是科大全體師生服務社會的日
子，700多名師生參加40項社會服務，幫
助有需要的人。
Service Learning Day
HKUST Service Learning Day was a joint effort of all University
members to engage with the community. Over 700 students and
staff members rendered volunteer service in 40 projects to serve the
needy.
科大有機同樂日及才華大賽
科大有機同樂日和才華大賽均為「同一科
大」學生生活獎的兩個項目，分別推廣有機
生活和才藝發展。
The Organic Fun Day @ HKUST and Talent
Contest
The Organic Fun Day @ HKUST and the HKUST Talent Contest, both
being part of The President’s 1-HKUST Student Life Award, were held
to promote organic living and talent development respectively.
愛因斯坦在科大
「愛因斯坦在科大」由高等研究院、理學院
和人文社會科學學院合辦，包括展覽與講
座等，讓學生認識愛因斯坦的生平和貢獻。

Einstein@HKUST was the joint efforts of the Institute for Advanced
Study, The School of Science and the School of Humanities and
Social Science. A series of exhibitions, talks and activities were
in place to enable students to learn about Einstein’s life and
contributions.
