人
文社會科學學院涵蓋12個學術領域。人文學部由人類學、藝術、歷史、語
言學、文學及哲學組成;社會科學部則由經濟、地理、政治學、心理學、
科學研究及社會學組成。
根據上海交通大學世界大學學術排名榜,2010年社會科學部保持2009年的排
名,位列大中華地區學府首位,更是唯一躋身世界前75名的學部。世界大學學
術排名榜就研究表現及學術成就進行評分。
在2010年QS全球大學排名中,科大在社會科學領域位列亞洲第13位,全球第
58位,而在人文科學領域則位列亞洲第35位;該排名榜特別重視全球及地區研
究表現。
世界著名作曲家、現任科大包玉剛傑出客席教授盛宗亮教授,將主持包括一系列
關於音樂理論及欣賞課程的音樂課程,作為四年制本科生課程的一大亮點。學院
亦計劃與北京大學及維珍尼亞大學合辦課程及雙學士學位課程。
學院將開辦環球中國研究理學士課程。此外,
社會科學部一直與數學系緊密合作,以期於
2012年開辦社會統計學主修學士學位課程。
學院繼續招募高質素的教職員,包括去年加入
科大的著名歷史學家李伯重教授及傑出文學評
論家兼詩人黃運特教授。著名歷史學家與資深
行政人員蘇基朗教授將於2011年初加入本學
院,出任人文學部主任。
在研究資助局的支持下,學院進行了多項研究
計劃,年內亦出版了許多書籍、專論、期刊及
原稿。

he School of Humanities and Social Science covers
12 disciplines — anthropology, arts, history,
linguistics, literature, and philosophy under the Division
of Humanities; and economics, geography, political
science, psychology, science studies, and sociology under
the Division of Social Science.
In 2010, the Division of Social Science retained its 2009
ranking as the best among universities in Greater China
and the only university to be ranked in the top 75
universities in the world according to the Shanghai Jiao
Tong University Academic Ranking of World Universities.
The Academic Ranking of World Universities is based
entirely on research performance and academic
achievement.
The 2010 QS World University Ranking, which is based
on global and regional research performances, ranks

in Asia and 58

in the world in the field of
Social Science and 35

in Asia in Humanities.
Prof Bright Sheng, a world-renowned composer and
currently Y K Pao Distinguished Visiting Professor of the
University, will spearhead a music program consisting of
a range of classes on music theory and appreciation as a
highlight in preparation for the four-year undergraduate
curriculum. The School is also planning joint courses and
dual degrees in collaboration with Peking University and
the University of Virginia.
The School will be launching a BSc in Global China
Studies. In addition, the Division of Social Science
has been working closely with the Department of
Mathematics to create a new undergraduate major in
Social Statistics in 2012.
The School has continued to recruit high-quality faculty,
including distinguished historian Prof Li Bozhong and
outstanding literary critic and poet Prof Huang Yunte
who joined last year. Prof Billy So, a renowned historian
and experienced senior administrator, will join the School
as the Head of the Humanities Division in early 2011.
The School has launched many new research initiatives
with the support of the Research Grants Council.
A number of books, monographs, journals and
manuscripts were published during the year.
