Assistant Prof Riki Takeuchi and Prof Jiatao
Li of the Department of Management of
Organizations developed a model on decision
autonomy and expatriate managers’ cross-
cultural adjustment. They examined the effect
of decision autonomy afforded to expatriate
managers on their own adjustment as well as
the moderating effect of global integration
pressure. They further investigated the
mitigating effect of the parent company’
s operational experience with the particular
foreign subsidiary on this relationship.

一個獨特的組織形式,從而獲得當地的認受。
這項研究從制度與生態學角度,建立一個連貫

P ro f J i a t ao L i and co l l eague s a t t he
Department of Management of Organizations
have examined how wholly owned foreign
subsidiaries gain legitimacy in a host country
by conceptualizing different market entry
modes as distinct organizational forms.
Drawing on the institutional and ecological
perspectives, this study builds a coherent
theoretical framework for considering the
legitimation of an organizational form
with identity, community, and audience as
common threads.

When selling directly to their end customers, many manufacturers price their products dynamically
based on, among other factors, the availability of inventory on hand. Meanwhile, yield uncertainty in
replenishment is a common occurrence in a wide range of production scenarios. Assistant Prof Qing Li
(left) and Prof Shaohui Zheng (right) of the Department of Information and Systems Management
provide a model for studying the coordination of pricing and inventory replenishment strategies under
yield uncertainty.
