園建設
是科大策略發展計劃的重要一
環，以實現教育及研究目標。隨著四年
學制即將於2012年實行，學生人數將大幅
增加。為此，校園擴建更成為當務之急。
科大位處清水灣，依山面海，怡人的景色，
是科大寶貴的天然資產。優美的校園設計，
營造了一個研究、學習及校園生活的理想
環境。科大擁有世界一流的實驗室、景色冠絕
的海邊運動場。為配合學校發展，科大將進行

urther development
of the University’s stunning bay-shore
campus is part and parcel of HKUST’s Strategic Plan to ensure our
educational and research goals are met. Expansion is also essential to
accommodate the surge in student numbers due when the four-year
degree program begins in 2012.
Purpose-built to provide a conducive environment for research,
learning and student life, the University is known for the beauty of
its setting at Clear Water Bay and the high quality of facilities that
range from state-of-the-art laboratories to scenic waterfront sports
venues. Major developments to enhance these include:
委託世界著名建築師伍茲貝格，與本地建築師劉榮廣伍振民建築師事務所合作設計「李兆基商學大樓」及高
等研究院，以及所連同的配套校舍。設施以卓越的設計及可持續發展為主導，當2011年竣工後，將提供逾
20,000平方米的一流教學及研究場地。
The appointment of internationally renowned architects, Woods Bagot, in partnership with local architects,
Dennis Lau Ng Man (DLN), to design the Lee Shau Kee Business Building and the Institute for Advanced
Study, together with associated residences. When completed in 2011, these facilities will provide over
20,000 sq.m. of top-notch accommodation for teaching and research, with an emphasis on distinctive
design and sustainable development.
