HKUST Fok Ying Tung Graduate School, situated in
Nansha, Guangzhou, continued to focus on research
and development, technology and innovation, in
four main divisions: Internet of Things; Advanced
Manufacturing and Industry Automation; Advanced
Materials; and Green Buildings and Environment. Fifty-
three new projects were secured over the year, bringing
the total number to 276. The School has registered 32
patents in total since being established.

With the University’s strategic repositioning of
its Mainland China platforms over the year, the
School will now spearhead HKUST’s technology
transfer and commercialization endeavors in the
Mainland, and coordinate the University’s innovation
and technology advancement efforts among the
Mainland platforms, including Shenzhen Research
