科 大 舉 辦Association of Asia Pacific Business
Schools（AAPBS）第三屆年會，區內各商學院均踴躍派
出代表出席，主講嘉賓包括Crown Worldwide主席兼行政總
裁詹康信先生及中國建設銀行投資理財總監毛裕民先生。
Business schools from throughout the region sent delegates
to HKUST for the Association of Asia Pacific Business
Schools’ (AAPBS) third annual conference held on campus.
Keynote speakers included Jim Thompson, Chairman and
Chief Executive, Crown Worldwide, and Mao Yu-min,
Chief Investment Officer, China Construction Bank.

科大高等研究院宣佈與美國史拔思科研院（The Scripps
Research Institute）達成首份合作協議。美國史拔思科研
院為世界一流的科研中心，設於美國加州聖地牙哥。

the launch of its first joint laboratory in collaboration
with The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI), a world-

朝鮮民主主義人民共和國（北韓）首度接受聯合
國基金資助的培訓專案項目，派遣該國所選派的統計
局代表團，到科大接受為期一個月的短期強化培訓，加強
調查研究能力。
The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea)
sent for the first time a team of research specialists
to HKUST to receive a one-month training in survey
research. Funded by the United Nations, this program
was the first organized training activity of its kind for
North Korea.

HKUST and the Savantas Policy Institute jointly launched
the Talented Youth Summer Program for pre-university
students with exceptional promise from around the
world to attend a 3-week program at HKUST. The
program was held in the summer of 2008.
