科大與紐約大學合辦環球金融理學碩士課程。在該課程主辦的研討
會中，科大商學院院長及紐約大學商學院院長分別發表以「美國經濟體
系中脆弱的金融系統及亞洲經濟的前景」為題演講。為期一日的研討會得到
美國商會及香港總商會鼎力支持。
“Financial Fragility in the US Economy and Prospects for Asian Economies”
was the subject tackled by the deans of the business schools at HKUST and
New York University in a seminar organized by the HKUST-NYU MS in Global
Finance Program. The one-day seminar was supported by the American
Chamber of Commerce and the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce.

首屆「家庭商業研究夏季研討會」吸引亞洲、澳洲、
歐洲及北美學者雲集科大，聚首一堂分享12篇會計、
經濟及金融學術論文的研究成果。
The first Summer Symposium on Family Business
Research attracted scholars from Asia, Australia,
Europe and North America. The researchers
gathered on campus to share the findings of 12
academic papers in the disciplines of accounting,
economics and finance.
科大頒授大學榮譽院士予四位傑出人士，分別是
許舒博士、許學之先生、盧偉國博士及譚偉豪
博士。
HKUST conferred Honorary Fellowship on four
distinguished community leaders in recognition
of their contributions to Hong Kong. They are:
Dr James William Hayes, Mr Hui Hok-Chee,
Ir Dr Lo Wai-Kwok and Dr Tam Wai-Ho
Samson.

Environment Day, HKUST held a series
of distinguished talks with the theme
of “Sustainability — A Leadership
Role for Higher Education”.
科大設立「陶思誦社會服務大獎」，嘉許對社會服務有傑出貢獻的
學生，以記念在內蒙古服務期間車禍去世的科大畢業生陶思誦。
HKUST set up an annual award to recognize students who
have made exceptional contributions to community service.
The award was named “Roy To Community Service Award” in
memory of an HKUST graduate who passed away in a traffic
accident on a service trip to Inner Mongolia organized by the
World Emergency Relief.
