曾明哲教授
Prof Mitchell M TsEng
工業工程及物流管理學系曾明哲教授獲選為
美國機械工程師學會院士，表揚曾教授在工
程界的成就及傑出貢獻。

and Logistics Management, has been
elected a Fellow of the American Society
of Mechanical Engineers, in recognition
of his achievements and exceptional
contributions to the engineering
profession.
曹希仁教授

電子及計算機工程學系曹希仁教
授在2008年獲國際自動控制聯盟
(IFAC)頒授院士銜，表彰曹教授
對「離散事件系統、隨機學習及優
化理論的研究及應用」作出傑出貢
獻。曹教授亦成為該會自1957年
創辦以來首位來自香港的院士。
Prof Xiren Cao, Electronic and Computer Engineering, has been
named a Fellow of the International Federation of Automatic
Control (IFAC) in 2008 in recognition of his contributions to
the analysis of discrete event systems, stochastic learning and
optimization theory, and their application. He is the first-ever
Hong Kong scholar to become an IFAC Fellow since the
Federation’s inception in 1957.

士，表揚趙教授在潔淨及高
效能源技術開發方面的傑出
研究。趙教授亦憑藉燃料電
池技術的突破性研究，榮獲
2008-09年裘槎優秀科研者獎。
Prof Tianshou Zhao, Mechanical Engineering, has been
elected a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical
Engineers for his outstanding research involving the
development of clean and high efficiency energy
technologies. He also won a Croucher Senior Research
Fellowhip for 2008-09 for his breakthrough research
in fuel cell technology.
