科大的使命
(香港法例第1141章)
大學的使命是 —
(a) 透過教學與研究,增進學習與知識,尤其 —
(i) 在科學、技術、工程、管理及商業方面的
學習與知識;及
(ii) 研究生程度的學習與知識;及
(b) 協助香港的經濟與社會發展。
科大的理念
定位為一所在國際上具有深遠影響,而又致力為本
地服務的優秀學府。
世界觀 ─ 作為世界級學府,在每一個精選的教研
領域裡走在國際前沿。
國家觀 ─ 作為中國最優秀的大學之一,對國家的
經濟及社會發展作出貢獻。
地區觀 ─ 作為香港的主要大學,與政府及工商界
通力合作,把本港發展成以知識為本的
社會。
Objects
(The Laws of Hong Kong: Chapter 1141)
The objects of the University —
(a) to advance learning and knowledge through
teaching and research, particularly –
(i) in science, technology, engineering,
management and business studies; and
(ii) at the postgraduate level; and
(b) to assist in the economic and social
development of Hong Kong.
Statement of Vision
To be a leading university with significant
international impact and strong local
commitment.
Global – To be a world-class university at the
cutting edge internationally in all
targeted fields of pursuit.
National – To contribute to the economic and
social development of the nation as
a leading university in China.
Local – To play a key role, in partnership
with government, business, and
industry, in the development of
Hong Kong as a knowledge-based
society.
