裝設渾天儀
Installation of Armillary Sphere
承蒙方潤華博士的慷慨捐助，渾天儀仿造品得以製成並在科大校
園裝設，為校園生活增添教育意義和美學層次。渾天儀是中國古
代一項偉大發明，也是世界上歷史最悠久的天文儀器之一；它的
作用是測量天體的位置。
With the generosity of Dr Fong Yun Wah, a replica of the Armillary
Sphere — an ancient Chinese invention and one of the oldest
astronomical instruments in the world for measuring the position of
heavenly bodies — was produced and installed on campus, adding aesthetic and educational value to university life.
盡展『潛』力在科大
Dive into Your Full Potential at HKUST
在錢大康教授的帶領下，80多名科大校友及師生參與了
一次名為「盡展『潛』力在科大」的慈善潛水活動，勇闖
美麗科大校園對開的海域。該活動旨在協助弱勢社群體
驗潛水的樂趣。
Spearheaded by Prof Roland Chin, over 80 HKUST alumni,
students and staff braved the deeps off the shores of the
beautiful campus for a charity diving event entitled “Dive
into Your Full Potential at HKUST”. It aims at helping the
less privileged to experience the fun of diving.

中國奧運金牌得主訪問科大
Visit of Chinese Olympic Gold Medalists
11名中國奧運金牌得主及兩名國際級教練訪問科大，他們除了與
學生及教職員會面外，更親手於科大開闢的京奧園種下樹苗。
11 of China’s gold medalists and two national coaches visited
HKUST, the only local university to be honored. Apart from meeting
with students and staff, the Olympians planted trees in the specially
created Olympic Garden, the garden of heroes.
機械工程研究生協會成立
Launch of the Mechancial Engineering
Postgraduate Society
機械工程研究生協會正式成立，以促進研究生與教職員之間的關係。
The Mechanical Engineering Postgraduate Society was established
to promote a closer relationship between postgraduate students
and faculty.
