主要捐獻
年來科大得到社會各界慷慨支持其學術、研究及校園
建設,大學對此深表謝意。年內科大獲以下多項主要
捐贈,以支持其發展。
李兆基基金會捐贈4億港元支持李兆基校園發展。李兆基
校園內的李兆基商學大樓及高等研究院(高研院)為四年制
本科生課程作好準備。商學院所有部門將遷往李兆基商學
大樓。高等研究院將推動知識追求,為香港、中國內地及
鄰近地區的知識型經濟作出貢獻。
為增強於2012開始四年制學位課程的教學及研究實力,科
大進行了多項重大工程,新的科研與教學大樓便是其中之
一,並獲周大福鄭裕彤基金捐贈9,000萬港元以示支持。
該大樓將為跨學科教學及研究提供一流實驗室。
高等研究院繼續獲各界支持:香港賽馬會慈善信託基金捐
贈7,109萬港元作為興建研究院教學大樓的經費;盧家驄
慈善基金有限公司捐贈5,000萬港元支持研究院發展;東
亞銀行有限公司繼早前捐出500萬港元後,再捐贈1,000
萬港元設立冠名講座教授席。
為增強科大在全球人才競爭中的優勢,本校將設立多個講
座教授席。現已獲劉鑾雄慈善基金捐贈1,000萬港元及香
港言愛基金捐贈500萬港元增設新教席,以吸引優秀教員。
Major Donations
T
he University is grateful to its donors for their
generous support of its academic, research and
infrastructure development over many years. A number
of major donations have been received. For example, the
Lee Shau Kee Foundation has donated $400 million to
support the development of the Lee Shau Kee campus
that will accommodate the Lee Shau Kee Business
Building and the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) to
prepare for the four-year undergraduate curriculum.
All units of the Business School will be brought under
one roof for the first time at the Lee Shau Kee Business
Building. The Institute for Advanced Study will promote
intellectual pursuits and contribute to the knowledge
economy of Hong Kong, Mainland China and the
neighboring region.
The new Research and Academic Building is one of the
major capital projects undertaken by the University to
strengthen its teaching and research capability for the
four-year degree in 2012. The Chow Tai Fook Cheng
Yu Tung Fund has donated $90 million to support the
project. The Building will house first-class laboratories
for interdisciplinary teaching and research.

求與國際機構及公司合作的機會。科大與全球最大的鋁生
產商俄鋁簽訂合作協議,俄鋁將向科大捐贈150萬美元,

何佐芝馮月燕慈善基金捐贈500萬港元,設立商業電台
金禧獎學金。
中南創發有限公司捐贈500萬港元,支持科大的納米科
學領域研究。
方樹福堂基金捐贈150萬港元,資助學生前往內地實
習。
香港潮州商會捐贈150萬港元,與一所潮州機構開展學
術交流計劃。
Morris S Smith Foundation的受託人Larry Franklin、
Mei Kwong Franklin及Sterling Franklin捐贈13萬美
元,成立基金資助商科本科生,豐富其國際商業知識
及經驗。
The Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) has received
continuous support from the community. The Hong
Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust has donated $71.09
million for the construction of the academic building
for the Institute. Lo Ka Chung Charitable Foundation
Limited donated $50 million in support of the Institute’s
development. The Bank of East Asia Limited has made
an additional donation of $10 million to establish an
endowed chair in the Institute with its earlier donation
of $5 million.
To strengthen the University’s competitive edge in the
global competition for talent, a number of named chairs
will be established. The Joseph Lau Luen Hung Charitable
Trust made a donation of $10 million while the Yanai
Foundation donated $5 million enabling the University to
create new chairs for attracting outstanding faculty.
As a leading world-class university, HKUST extends
its global connection by actively seeking collaborative
opportunities with international institutions and
corporations. The University has signed a collaborative
agreement with UC RUSAL, the world’s largest aluminum
producer, under which the company will donate US$1.5
million to launch a President’s Forum in the IAS, a
