was awarded Fellowship of the Society for Industrial and Applied
Mathematics (SIAM) for his contributions to numerical analysis and image processing, and for
service to the mathematical community.

prestigious 2009 IEEE Marconi Prize Paper Award in Wireless Communications. He was also
elected Vice-President of the IEEE Communications Society. The voting for the office of Vice-
President is held every two years by all members from all over the world.

神經科學學會（SfN）以及國際神經精神藥理學協會（CINP）的理事會成員。國際神經精神藥
理學協會是世界頂尖的精神藥理學專業機構。美國神經科學學會則是由科學家和醫生組成的
全球最大神經科學協會；葉教授更是該學會歷史上第一位被選入理事會的國際會員。
Prof Nancy Ip
, Department of Biochemistry, has been concurrently elected Councilor for two
of the world’s leading international organizations for neuroscience and psychopharmacology.
She was elected Councilor for Collegium Internationale Neuro-Psychopharmacologicum (CINP),
the world’s leading professional organization for psychopharmacology, and for the Society of
Neuroscience (SfN), the world's largest organization of scientists and physicians devoted to
advancing understanding of the brain and nervous system. She is the first international member
to be elected an SfN Councilor in the history of the Society.

大中華地區五位獲此榮譽的學者之一。他亦獲選為美國質量協會（ASQ）院士，成為該會成立
以來第四位來自大中華區的院士，同時又獲香港工程師學會（HKIE）頒授院士榮銜。他更獲
美國工業工程學期刊

2009年度最佳論文獎及美國工業工程師學會突出貢
獻獎。
Prof Fugee Tsung,
Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Logistics
Management, was made a Fellow of the Institute of Industrial Engineers and became one of
only five scholars from Greater China to hold this honor. He was also elected Fellow of the
American Society for Quality (ASQ) to become one of four ASQ Fellows in the Greater China
Region. He was also elected Fellow of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE), and received
the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) Transactions 2009 Best Paper Award, the Outstanding
IIE Publication Award, and the IIE Fellow 2010 Award from the Institute.
