, Industrial Engineering and
Logistics Management, has his research on Wearable
Terminal and Scanner with the Design Research Innovation
and Design Department of Motorola Inc. USA selected
as the Most Innovative Product of the Year 2008 by the
Human Factors and Ergonomics Society.

Prof Christopher Chao
, Mechanical Engineering, has been invited by the US government to serve
as a scientific steering committee member in the Office of Public Health and Environmental Hazards
in the Department of Veterans Affairs. He will advise on allocation of resources in areas related to
infectious disease control and prevention in Veterans Affairs Medical Centers across the US.

Prof Ning Cai, Industrial Engineering and Logistics
Management, has received an honorable mention in
the George E. Nicholson Prize at INFORMS 2008. This
is the first time a financial engineering researcher has
won this accolade since the competition was established
in 1975.
