won the ACM SIGSOFT Distinguished
Paper Award at the 27th IEEE/
ACM International Conference on
Automated Software Engineering.
• Mr Siyuan Wang,
PhD in Chemistry,
received the
Outstanding
Student Paper
Award from
the American
Geophysical
Union.
• Physics PhD student Ms Lin Wang
received a Young Scientist Award from
the European Materials Research Society.
• Computer Science and Engineering
PhD candidate Mr Yongxin Tong
received a Microsoft Research Asia
Fellowship 2012.
• Dr Zhangfan Chen, PhD in Life Science, received
the Best Paper Award at the 10th International
Larval Biology Meeting at UC Berkeley.
• Post-doctoral fellow Dr Dongsun Kim, PhD student Mr Jaechang Nam,
MPhil student Mr Jaewoo Song and Prof Sunghun Kim, Computer
Science and Engineering, received the SIGSOFT Distinguished Paper
Award at the International Conference on Software Engineering 2013.
• Dr Yongjie Li, Division of Environment, received a Young Scientist
Poster Award at the 12th International Global Atmospheric Chemistry
(IGAC) Open Science Conference – “Atmospheric Chemistry in the
Anthropocene”.
• Dr Kaishun Wu, PhD in Computer Science and Engineering, and Dr Can
Yang, PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, won Hong Kong
Young Scientist Awards from the Hong Kong Institution of Science.
• PhD student Mr Yu Yu, Bioengineering, received the Champion Award in
the Young Engineers’ Paper Competition at the Biomedical Engineering
International Conference 2012, organized by the Hong Kong Institution of
Engineers.
• Dr Nan Cao, Computer Science and Engineering, Dr Xiaolei Wang, Civil and
Environmental Engineering, and Dr Qixing Wu, Mechanical Engineering,
received School of Engineering PhD Research Excellence Awards 2012/13.
