The Senate
The Senate is the University’s principal academic
body, responsible for all related matters, including
directing and regulating teaching and research
at the University. During the year, a number
of academic programs were introduced while
modifications were made to specific programs
to enhance program administration and to keep
abreast of the needs of students. One of the
projects of strategic importance endorsed by
the Senate was the formation of a Joint School
of Sustainable Development, in partnership with
Xi’an Jiaotong University. The Senate has further
endorsed initial proposals for undergraduate and
postgraduate degree programs which, subject
to the approval of the Ministry of Education, will
provide the basis for academic programs offered
by the Joint School.
