22 ANNUAL REPORT 2018-19 Lab to Market HKUST received several prestigious RGC funding awards for multidisciplinary projects, including a project to create an extreme weather prediction and landslide early warning system using artificial intelligence. The Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases was launched in partnership with scientists from Harvard, Stanford, and University College London. HKUST and WeBank launched the first HK-Guangdong Joint Laboratory in Banking.
