67 MAY The Big Data Institute of HKUST held its first Big Data and AI Day, gathering leading academics and industry practitioners to share information and insights into the future of these high-impact research and development areas. JUN HKUST conferred Honorary Fellowships on three distinguished leaders. Two prestigious Gordon Research Conferences, on Particle Physics and on Topological and Correlated Matter, were held at the HKUST Jockey Club Institute for Advanced Study. The Division of Humanities organized a two-day Literature and Philosophy International Symposium. APR The Intimacy of Creativity 2017 Instrumental Chamber Music Festival took place. Compositions included works by IAS Helmut and Anna Pao Sohmen Professor-at-Large Prof Bright Sheng, Distinguished Guest Composer Marc Satterwhite, and Composer Fellows. Calendar of Events
